Lookout Mountain - Buffalo Bill Mixed Tour

This great mixed tour starts and ends at Peak Bikes in Downtown Golden. Lookout Mountain is the tall peak West of Golden where Buffalo Bill's grave and museum reside.

From Peak Bikes head South on Washington, up the hill to 19th. Head West on 19th past the School of Mines and across Highway 6. Continue on the road as it curves to the South. Ride under the stone arch/pillars. This is the start of the Lariat Loop a famous drive up Lookout Mountain.

Soon there's a pulloff on the left and trail heading up a gulch. This is Chimney Gulch. Exit the road and ride up the single track trail to Windy Saddle. The trail once again crosses the road. Cross the road and parking area, regain the trail as it heads up towards the summit.

Near the Boettcher Mansion the trail intersects another road. Take this road down hill back to the main Lookout Mountain Road towards Buffalo Bill's grave and museum. Stop at the museum snack bar for refreshements and head back down the paved road to Downtown Golden.
